PROCEDURES

Why Every Company Should Have Documented Management Procedures.

While many ISO standards (ISO 9000, ISO 14000 ISO18000, etc) specify that documented procedures are in place, they also make sound sense for your Company's well being.
But it is not enough just to have the documented procedures; they must be clearly written and easy to follow in order to be effective. A folder crammed full of pages of block text, corporate information and buzz-words may look impressive but is of little use if it is not understandable and easy to use.

Well written procedures do not just sit on the shelf, they:

  • Encourage and support your management and staff in carrying out their duties effectively
  • Promote confidence in management and staff as they carry out their duties
  • Get new starters on board quickly and efficiently
  • Help maintain performance when seasonal or temporary staff are employed
  • Help monitor and maintain the performance of the supply chain
  • Provide auditable routines and documented results
  • Provide effective tools to support your Company's aims in:
    • Quality
    • Health and Safety
    • Project Management
    • Procurement
    • Emergency Management
    • Customer Care
    • Environmental Management
    • Day to day management (i.e. Employee Handbook)
  • Provide a point of reference for all procedural enquiries
  • Provide a base for the management of problems, change and continuous improvement
We have many years of experience in this field. We will discuss and assess your needs for documented procedures, review your existing documentation, interview appropriate staff and then develop the most effective content and presentation. If required, we will make presentations to your management and staff to press home the benefits and use of system procedures.

The Value of Asset Data Collection.

As a basis for the management of finances, operation and maintenance, more and more companies require the development and upkeep of asset databases.

Such databases provide a convenient source of information for:
  • Identifying the value of the Company's assets
  • Maximising the use of common maintenance procedures
  • Minimising the procurement and holding of spares and consumables
  • Facilitating the identification of assets when new or replacement items are to be procured
  • Organisation of suitable training
  • Efficient identification of assets for Regulatory purposes
  • Efficient identification of assets for Warranty purposes
  • Efficient identification of assets for addressing performance, efficiency, safety, etc.
  • Efficient identification of assets when designing and planning refurbishments and replacements
We have considerable experience in the design and development of systems for the collection of suitable data, the actual collection of data in the field and the entry of appropriate data onto the databases. We can assist you in any of these areas.
